Bluff City Brewers and Connoisseurs is Memphis’ oldest and largest homebrew club.
Started in 1980, we are a homebrew community whose purpose is to educate club members and the public by promoting beer literacy, the responsible appreciation of real beer, and to recognize beer tasting and evaluation skills.
We welcome brewers and beer lovers of all levels, from absolute beginners to experienced Braumeisters. We hold an annual “Newbie Brew Day” for those looking to get into the hobby with extract kits; and an “All grain Newbie Brew Day” for those looking to brew all grain beers. Club meetings are on the third Thursday of every month at Hammer & Ale on Cooper Ave. in Memphis, TN. Here, we talk beer, taste samples from club members or classic commercial styles, and discuss upcoming events. We serve our homebrew at the local beer Festivals, and always have a blast doing so! Members have brew sessions throughout the year, where we get together to brew up a batch.
