Rules for 2012 Homebrewer of the Year

Entering competitions is a great way of receiving feedback on flaws and faults in your beers, making you a better brewer. Bluff City Brewers and Connoisseurs encourages members to enter AHA/BJCP competitions, and we will reward you if you do well!

2012 rules:

  1. Homebrewer of the Year counts for competitions entered between Jan 1 – December 31, 2012
  2. You must enter and place in a minimum of 2 AHA/BJCP sanctioned homebrew competitions including Bluff City Brewers & Connoisseurs’ Extravaganza
  3. You must be a paid member of Bluff City Brewers & Connoisseurs at the time of entering a competition
  4. Group entries must split points, regardless
  5. For each beer, you must be able to submit a valid competition web site showing the winners, including your name and Bluff City Brewers club affiliation
  6. Members found cheating will be disqualified from the Homebrewer of the Year competition, and face possibly sanctions at the discretion of the board, from being banned from entering Homebrewer of the Year, up to removal from the club

Point Scale:

For each Homebrew Competition entered, the following points will be allocated.  At the end of the year, each Brewer must submit their point total to the Officers of Bluff City Brewers and Connoisseurs, along with a list of competitions entered.

1st place 3 points
2nd place 2 points
3rd place 1 point
Best of Show 3 points
National Homebrew competition: Regional: 3 points
National: 6 points
Pro Am Winner 3 points
